what are holiday cacti?
the name holiday cactus is commonly used for the members of the genus schlumbergera (christmas cactus, thanksgiving cactus) and hatiora (easter cactus, syn. rhipsalidopsis). they are together with lepismium and rhipsalis in the rhipsalideae tribe of the cactaceae family (cactoideae subfamily).
the members of both genus can be differed by their leaves and flowers.
