the genus rhipsalis contains approx. 40 members. some of them are native to central and south america (brazil) but there are also species in madagascar. they are growing epiphytic (sitting on trees) or lithophytic (on rocks). in the past some of them where belonging to schlumbergera or hatiora.
they are showing small white to yellow or pinkish flowers.
the growing conditions are similar to schlumbergera or hatiora but rhipsalis don’t need a dormant rest for flowering.
